At Innovative Solar Systems, LLC (ISS) our principals believe that PV (photovoltaic) solar farms will continue to become cheaper and more efficient in the future. As we have seen major advances in cellular phones, computers and televisions over the last twenty years, we will see similar advances in solar technology that will make solar farms better. Smaller and smaller solar farms will be needed to produce renewable energy for our country. Smaller systems will also help reduce the overall costs until PV solar becomes competitive with fossil fuel power plants that are creating greenhouse emissions.

Solar Farms Enable Off Grid Electricity

Our principals believe there will come a time that entire manufacturing plants and residential subdivisions may be able to go “off the grid” as smaller PV solar farms will be able to produce enough electricity to power these facilities. As new construction becomes more energy efficient through LED lighting, super insulation and other energy saving techniques, the total electrical requirements for new construction will decrease. In addition, battery storage will be required to store the excess electricity generated during the day to provide electricity at night. We believe new breakthroughs in battery technology will provide a cost effective means for storing the energy produced by commercial solar systems.

The principals at ISS believe that the day will come when the utility company model will be threatened just as we have seen with “hard wired” telephone and cable TV companies that no longer have a monopoly. When users no longer need a “hard wired” connection to a utility monopoly, the monopoly model is no longer a monopoly. The utility companies will continue to fight “tooth and nail” to prevent this from happening, just as the telephone and cable companies did.
