With modern solar electric technology it is quite easy to convert the sun’s energy into electricity that can be used at the solar system owner’s site or sold to your local utility through a purchase power agreement.
Solar PV Modules are made of two semiconductor layers, one is positively charged and the other is negatively charged. The electrons get excited when sunlight hits the modules and electricity is created. The modules create DC power which is then converted to AC power through an inverter which is located at the modules. Owners of Solar PV Systems can choose to use part or all of their electricity or tie their systems to the local utilities grid for a sell all type system.
Solar PV System Panels should face due south and have a tilt depending on the latitude of the area to maximize energy production. More sophisticated systems may also incorporate an auto tracking system to adjust panel tilt angle throughout the year. Solar PV Systems can also generate tremendous amounts of power if facing southeast or southwest if a perfect due south direction is not possible due to site conditions.
