Innovative Solar Systems, LLC and VivoPower International PLC Reach Milestones For S.C. Solar Farm
By Peggy Hammond June 20, 2018
Innovative Solar Systems, LLC (ISS) and VivoPower International PLC announce the completion of major milestones for a 20MWac solar farm project located in Martin, South Carolina. The partnership has secured an interconnection agreement and now has an executed power purchase agreement. This solar farm is currently for sale and has an anticipated COD of 2020.
“ISS is proud of the work we’ve done thus far with VivoPower, and we look forward to more successes in our partnership. It is our goal to bring solar energy plants to more communities, and this is a huge accomplishment to get one of our jointly-held solar fam projects well under way and closer to start of construction,” said John Green, CEO of ISS.
Established in 2011, ISS is a U.S. developer of utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV facilities. ISS began with the development of 800kWac to 2MWac distribution line, ground-mounted solar projects and subsequently redirected focus to developing 20MWac to 200MWac transmission line projects. ISS sold over 720MWac of solar farm projects in 2016, 1.3GWac in 2017, and currently has for sale an additional 15GWac of solar projects in varying stages of development. ISS achieved the honor of being ranked in the top five utility-scale solar developers in the U.S. in both 2016 and 2017 by Solar Power World. ISS has a proven track record of both distribution line and transmission line projects and feels privileged to have developed the first two 80MWac solar farms to commence operation east of the Mississippi River.
VivoPower is a global solar power producer and storage company that is developing, building, and operating projects on a global basis in a capital efficient manner. VivoPower does this by aggregating PV solar projects underpinned by long-term power purchase agreements, arranging corporate and project financing, engineering, design and equipment procurement and managing the construction and development of such solar PV projects.
